About Silver Lake (Grand Traverse)

Silver Lake is an all-sports lake located in Grand Traverse County near Traverse City.

Desired for its proximity to town, Silver Lake is 600 acres in size and is one of the few lakes whose levels are regulated.

This family friendly lake is perfect for general boating, waterskiing, wakeboarding, tubing, jet skiing, canoeing, and kayaking.  Swans, geese, ducks and even loons are common sightings. There is a nice DNR/public boat launch located on the east side of the lake with plenty of parking. A large and popular RV Park/campground is located on the south end of the lake.  For those who like to drop a line in the water (summer or winter), walleye, northern pike, perch, rock bass, bluegill, large and smallmouth bass are common.  Fishing is good all over the lake, but for walleye try the gravel drop-offs along the west central shoreline and the lake’s south end.

The latitude and longitude coordinates for this lake are 44.6928, -85.6862 and the altitude is 863 feet (263 meters). Elevation: 863 ft (263 m).
