About Lake Ann

Lake Ann is located in the charming Village of Lake Ann, a small community in Benzie County, approximately twenty minutes west of Traverse City. Home to John & Sandy's General Store where their motto is "If we don't have it, you don't need it!"

A beautiful all-sports lake, Lake Ann is enjoyed by boating enthusiasts and fisherman alike. One of the unique features of Lake Ann is that a quiet time is enforced - allowing fisherman the chance to enjoy the solitude of dropping a line without having a boat zooming by and scaring the fish!

Species commonly found at the end of the line are large and small mouth bass, northern pike, perch, bluegill, rockbass and smelt. Fishing is good all over the lake, but the shallows near the outlet to Platte River shouldn't be overlooked. The boat launch is located off of County Rd. 610 (go through the Village of Lake Ann & turn left on Reynolds Rd. The boat launch will be on the left).

Loon sightings are common.

There is also a rustic campground and trail system to enjoy hiking, mountain biking and cross country skiing, snowshoeing. Different trail lengths are available, however if you take the longer loop, portions of the trail follow the Platte River.
