About Big Blue Lake

Another of a few extremely clear, cool lakes in Northeastern Kalkaska County.  Big Blue Lake is absolutely beautiful. It gets its name from the beautiful blue hues.   Sand bottom, minimal weed growth and depths to 85' make this one of the most sought after lakes in the county.  All-sports boating is allowed, but traffic is usually light due to the relatively small size of the lake (about 130 acres).  Home to large Lake Trout, Pike, Smallmouth Bass, Splake and numerous panfish, Big Blue is a great fishing lake that sees very little pressure.
